An interactive report shows the impact of Blue Ventures’ human rights-based, community-led marine conservation in Madagascar that integrates health and conservation. The study found that supporting a variety of human rights, by meeting healthcare needs, supporting family planning, and diversifying livelihoods, helped remove barriers to participation in conservation efforts. Grantee Blue Ventures suggests conservation must consider human rights but also found that there are limitations to their approach that future work should consider.
