Shifting Gears on Juvenile Justice Communications
July 6, 2016 | Grantee Publications | Juvenile Justice, MacArthur Award for Creative & Effective Institutions

Tools developed by FrameWorks Institute, recipient of the MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions, help advocates develop an effective narrative to advance juvenile justice reform. Frameworks’ MessageMemo Talking Juvenile Justice Reform and the Shifting Gears on Juvenile Justice toolkit offer strategies for message development and narrative framing that clearly communicate the importance of youth development in the juvenile justice system. The materials offer recommendations – including specific verbiage that best resonates with audiences and the use of metaphor in making a case – to help advocates grow support for juvenile justice reforms.
