Innovative Chicago ESL Program Improves Learning

An evaluation released by Instituto del Progresso Latino in Chicago shows that a model blending online learning with in-person support proved to be a viable option for high-impact distance learning in ESL and Adult Education. Cyber-ESL is an English language learning model that combines a traditional online program, real-time video-chat and online interaction with teachers, and classroom sessions. The evaluation shows that 58 percent of participants in the program increased one or more grade levels in a 16-week period. Read a profile of Cyber-ESL.
