NewsMatch 2018 is offering more than $3 million in matching donations made from November 1 to December 31, 2018 to 155 nonprofit newsrooms in the United States. A diverse group of foundations, including MacArthur, support NewsMatch to catalyze grassroots support for local, investigative reporting that is essential for a strong democracy. Each organization is eligible for up to $25,000 in matching funds for donations up to $1,000. Individuals interested in supporting one of the news organizations can find a full list of those participating. In 2017, the campaign raised $4.8 million for nonprofit news organizations, equipped them with professional fundraising, tools and technology, and cultivated more than 43,000 new donors.
