An issue brief from the Pew-MacArthur Results First Initiative illustrates how policymakers are using legislation to prioritize evidence-based decision-making when it comes to what programs receive funding. The brief highlights laws in Washington, Oregon, and Tennessee mandating the use of evidence-based programs and practices, and documents the impact and lessons learned from those efforts.
