Chicago Family on Stairs

A new report identifies dwindling rates of homeownership, especially among African Americans and Hispanics.  Demographic Challenges and Opportunities for U.S. Housing Markets, a report by MacArthur grantee the Urban Institute, found that more adults are now living with their parents and that the children of Baby Boomers, especially hard hit by the recession, may be unprepared to purchase the homes that Boomers vacate upon reaching old age.  The report was released at a regional forum hosted by the MacArthur-supported Bipartisan Policy Center Housing Commission in San Antonio.
