In New Mexico oil and gas sites and manufacturers located in the middle of neighborhoods and near schools are exposing residents to toxic pollutants. Earthworks is advocating for better community protections and mandated setbacks of one mile from schools—which is the recommended distance to not harm children. A series of videos illustrates the proximity and concern, in near a school in Carlsbad, showing the emission in a neighborhood of Carlsbad, and an upgraded oil and gas facilities that nonetheless emit dangerous emissions.
