Climate map

The Climate Center at the Georgetown University Law Center has launched an online tool allowing the public to track actions taken by states in response to climate change. The MacArthur-supported State Adaptation Progress Tracker is intended to hold states and policymakers accountable to the plans they develop to respond to climate change. The research behind the new tool has shown that only 14 states have adaptation plans in place to respond to climate change, with each of those at different levels of implementation or development. The hope is that the increased transparency created by the tool will help facilitate advocacy and action from constituents for further action.
