A newly created network of nonprofits will work to enable all young people to leverage today's technology to connect their aspirations to learning and real world opportunity. The MacArthur-supported Connected Learning Alliance is expected to grow and already involves more than three dozen organizations, including the Mozilla Foundation, MIT Media Lab, National Writing Project and YOUmedia. The alliance is launching a 30-day podcast and artwork campaign called "Make Learning Relevant," featuring interviews with thought leaders, leading practitioners and college-bound youth who have experienced the benefits of connected learning firsthand. MacArthur's Director of Education Connie Yowell did the first podcast, explaining what it will take to build a learning approach suited to the workplace and opportunities of the digital age.
