deforestation

Advanced forest monitoring tools designed to assist in forest conservation decisions are now available to the public free of charge, putting the ability to monitor forests into the hands of anyone, anywhere in the world. The Carnegie Institute of Washington Department of Ecology launched the MacArthur-supported Carnegie Landsat Analysis System-lite, or CLASlite, Classroom to allow non-commercial users to learn how to use CLASlite software for detecting deforestation and other forest disturbances. The course is offered in English and Spanish.
