Almost everyone will need or provide care during their lives; we all experience or are connected to illness, disability, and aging. In the film Take Me Home, writer-director Liz Sargent tells the story of two sisters navigating a complex web of caregiving needs after a Florida heat wave disrupts the delicate balance of their family. It highlights the challenges of providing and accessing care, and the film ties into Caring Across Generation’s campaign for 1 Million Care Conversations. The campaign encourages people to have necessary conversations about what care looks like and what future they want to build.

Ai-jen Poo, MacArthur Fellow (2014) and Co-Founder and Executive Director of grantee Caring Across Generations, and Lydia Storie were executive producers of the film, among others. Releasing nationally in theaters in fall 2026, with the original short available to screen via PBS, the film received the Tribeca x AT&T “Untold Stories” award in 2025 and made its debut in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award.
