Latina technology

A total of $500,000 in grants will be distributed to 10 to 15 millennial-led projects that leverage technology to improve conditions and learning in Latino communities as part of the recently launched VotoLatino Innovators Challenge. The design and technology challenge, for ages 18 to 34, is being administered by HASTAC and supported by the MacArthur Foundation. Those choosing to compete must apply by October 15, 2014 and can propose anything from a mobile app to an online game that provides a solution to the current challenges facing Latino families and communities. VotoLatino is also organizing a series of MacArthur-supported Power Summits for Latino Millennials to network, sharpen their tech and leadership skills, and learn about tools they can use to spur communities into action.
