DML SOL chicago

Following in the footsteps of Chicago, three additional cities — Dallas, Los Angeles, and Pittsburgh — have launched their own Cities of Learning programs. This fall, Columbus, Ohio, and Washington, D.C., will also launch programs, and more cities are lining up offerings for 2015. The programs provide new learning opportunities for youth from all backgrounds to follow their interest, learn socially with supportive peers and mentors, and develop higher-order thinking skills from making and producing  videos, fashion design, poetry, robots, computer code, and more. Each city will award digital badges to recognize these newly acquired skills and document learning wherever it happens. A website will help connect these cities across the United States as new programs are launched.
