Chicago Public Schools has adopted Common Sense Media's Digital Literacy and Citizenship Classroom Curriculum, in compliance with state rules for annual, age-appropriate Internet safety instruction for students in grades 3 to 12. Foundation grantee Common Sense Media developed the free curriculum to help students and school communities to be knowledgeable, safe, and responsible online. Each month, a new curriculum topic will be featured, including digital footprint, identity/self-expression, cyberbullying, and privacy and security. Common Sense Media programs are currently in 17,000 schools across the country.
