Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced additional funding to expand YOUmedia, the MacArthur-supported youth learning space that opened at the Chicago Public Library’s downtown Harold Washington Library Center in 2009, to six new branch locations. An additional $500,000 of funding from the city, along with a $2 million MacArthur grant to the Chicago Public Library Foundation, will increase the number of teens who receive digital learning expereinces in web design, digital media production, and programming by 25 percent.
