University of California, Berkeley’s Institution of International Studies is a multidisciplinary organized research unit whose mission is to support research among faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates that engages issues of global concern. The purpose of this grant is to better understand the complicated dynamics within Pakistan that contribute to its view of security. It would tap into expertise not typically associated with Pakistan’s security analysis--such as economic development, environmental challenges, and identity diversity--to map out a new area for research and analysis.
