The Anusandhan Trust/Center for Enquiry into Health and Allied Themes (CEHAT) will carry out intervention research that aims to develop and test the feasibility and efficacy of a counselling intervention for pregnant women and their families in hospital settings in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Findings will be used to advocate with the state and national Ministries of Health and Family Welfare for the integration of screening and counselling in routine antenatal care in India and for the training of providers to address violence in a pregnancy.
For work to strengthen non-governmental organizations working in the field of maternal mortality and morbidity and young people’s sexual and reproductive health in India (over three years).
For a research-action program on reproductive health and violence against women (over three years).
To study household expenditure on reproductive health in the slums of Bombay and in rural Maharashtra, India (over two years).
