A public performance and discussion about how artists and musicians listen to each other across generations and genres, inspired by John Coltrane’s practice of listening to and learning from experimental musicians. The event features MacArthur Fellows Raven Chacon (2023), George Lewis (2002), Josiah McElheny (2006), and Fred Moten (2020), along with Jennie C. Jones, and includes communal listening to recorded music and a discussion about listening as a method of expanding futuristic possibilities.
