July 21, 2014 | Publication | Human Rights

A website and report produced by the Foundation Center and the International Human Rights Funders Group provide a complete picture of human rights philanthropy to help advance knowledge and facilitate strategic decision-making in the field. The report shows that 745 foundations in 34 countries made over 17,000 grants totaling $1.7 billion in human rights funding in 2011, the latest year for which data is available. These and other statistics are brought to life via the interactive website, which allows funders, activists, researchers, and academics to explore funding by issue focus, population focus, and region.
