State politics

A study by the National Institute on Money in State Politics, MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions recipient, examines the trending topic of the proliferation and influence of out-of-state donors. The Institute studied contributions made to gubernatorial candidates from 2007 through 2014 and assessed the role of out-of-state donors by its findings. The report showed that the majority of direct contributions that crossed state lines supported the winning candidate.
