Climate report

A report by the Redstone Strategy Group examines how foundations can use mission investments alongside grant portfolios to accelerate climate solutions. The report was commissioned by MacArthur, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and the ClimateWorks Foundation. It draws on new and existing research to explore where mission investments can work with grants, government investment and policy, and private capital to encourage a global transition to a low-carbon economy. It recommends four areas that warrant further exploration: stopping deforestation and peat loss in Indonesia; installing distributed energy generation in India; commercializing advances in cleantech; and scaling energy efficiency through new business models.
