Arts Prosperity

Illinois' nonprofit arts and culture sector supports more than 78,000 full-time-equivalent jobs, generates $2.3 billion in household income to residents, and delivers nearly $324 million a year in local and state government revenue, according to a national study by Americans for the Arts. In addition to the arts' economic footprint, Arts & Economic Prosperity IV examines how the arts drive business to other industries and evaluates potential growth in cultural tourism. Data for the Illinois study was collected by MacArthur grantee Arts Alliance Illinois and compiled by Americans for the Arts. Read the report.
