The Digital Security and Grantcraft Guide helps grantmakers better understand and navigate the rapidly evolving digital security landscape, in which targeted digital threats are becoming increasingly frequent. The guide provides an overview of digital security threats faced by civil society organizations, and enables grantmakers to better identify organizations that may face a higher level of digital security risk, while raising the bar on grantee digital security generally. The guide was developed by the Ford, MacArthur, and Open Society Foundations and The Citizen Lab as part of the NetGain Partnership, which seeks to strengthen the field of public interest technology.
