A communications guide incorporating research from a range of social science fields aims to foster a better understanding of American responses to climate change and explains how anyone, from religious leaders to healthcare professionals, scientists, and policymakers can better engage the public on the issue. Connecting on Climate: A Guide to Effective Climate Change Communication was developed in collaboration with the MacArthur-supported MomentUs initiative of ecoAmerica and other partners. MomentUs aims to inspire and support climate solutions, with dedicated programs for leaders from health, business, higher education, local municipalities, and faith. The guide, useful for experienced and novice communicators alike, includes strategies to boost engagement, common mistakes to avoid, and best practices that organizations have used to meaningfully engage individuals and groups on climate change.
