A MacArthur-supported report by I(dh)eas, Litigio Estratégico en Derechos Humanos developed in partnership with several families of missing persons in Mexico and submitted to the UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances outlines Mexico’s shortcomings in addressing the rising numbers of forced disappearances in recent years. The report asserts that recommendations issued by the Committee have not been adopted by the Mexican government, including the training of public servants on effectively applying investigation protocols created specifically to investigate disappearances.
