DACA 3 years

A report from the American Immigration Council, a MacArthur grantee, assesses the state and progress of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) as it reaches its third year. The report states that while 700,000 undocumented youth and young adults obtained DACA status by September 2015, a number of barriers still stand in the way of that population’s education and employment. Challenges the “DACAmented” youth face include lack of access to financial aid and in-state tuition and exclusion from occupational and professional licensing.
