Undocumented students in Illinois face difficulties accessing and completing postsecondary education due to its cost, according to a MacArthur-supported report by the Latino Policy Forum. The report finds that lack of access to student financial aid places the entire burden of tuition costs on students and their families, impacting students emotionally and academically. The lack of aid also delays the transition from high school to higher education and forces students to make multiple “stop-outs” on the road to a college degree, if they attain one at all.
