A portal for India’s State Energy Efficiency Index tracks progress on energy efficiency programs in 36 of India’s states and territories. It looks at 97 indicators in building, industry, municipalities, transportation, and agriculture sectors to classify the states’ achievements. MacArthur-grantee Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy makes key recommendations for the states to pursue climate action, including more proactive policy formation and implementation, more robust data and transparency, and improving the credibility of energy efficiency programs.
