We are Witnesses 240

We Are Witnesses: Chicago” elevates the experiences of Chicagoans who have been touched by the criminal justice system. The individual’s stories featured in a moving collection of videos range from a jail warden to a formerly incarcerated teen, from parents of incarcerated young people to parents of murdered children, from a police whistleblower to judges. The project—produced by MacArthur-grantees The Marshall Project, Kartemquin Films, and Illinois Humanities—challenges its viewers to explore the human impact of the justice system.
