The 2020 edition of the State Energy Efficiency Index found that 27 Indian states and union territories improved their energy efficiency scores since 2019. The index from MacArthur grantee the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE) aims to encourage and measure progress toward energy efficiency in India. AEEE considers 68 indicators that are weighted based on their impact on energy saving and driving energy efficiency implementation across sectors.
