Under the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan, which sets the first-ever standards limiting carbon pollution from power plants, states can craft their own strategy and set stronger standards that create significant economic benefits, according to an analysis by the Natural Resources Defense Council. The Council found that states that set tighter limits on carbon pollutions could create more than 274,000 jobs and realize $37 billion in savings on electric bills above and beyond the economic benefits the Clean Power Plan is already expected to produce.
