Coastal flooding from rising seas threatens affordable housing according to a study on the risks from Climate Central. The study identifies coastal areas most vulnerable to flooding and found that nearly 8,000 units are at risk of flooding annually, tripling to over 24,000 by 2050. The report concludes that some flood-threat reduction efforts in cities and states could protect residents, though increasing the supply of resilient affordable housing is a critical need.
