cooling imperative 240

The demand and need for cooling—refrigeration and air conditioning—is growing, and an Economist Intelligence Unit report commissioned by the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program (K-CEP) assesses the scope of that demand through 2030. Access to cooling can save lives and is needed to help countries meet the sustainable development goals, but cooling technologies are also substantial contributors to climate change. The report includes emerging best practices to address the needs as well as reduce the climate impact, furthering the MacArthur-supported K-CEP goal to help developing countries make climate-friendly and affordable cooling solutions accessible to all.
