IDHEAS, Litigio Estratégico en Derechos Humanos, a MacArthur grantee, created the Manual para la aplicación de la Ley General sobre Desaparición de Personas y el Protocolo Homologado de Búsqueda (Manual for the Right Implementation of the General Law on Missing Persons and the Standardized Search Protocol), to assist prosecutors and other public servants with missing person investigations. The Spanish-language guide summarizes requirements and obligations under the National System for the Search of Missing Persons legislation and seeks to ensure that agencies nationwide implement the law uniformly around investigations into forced disappearances.
