The Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE) has developed a State Energy Efficiency Preparedness Index, a framework that measures and encourages energy efficient policies and programs and tracks progress toward India’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions. The Index looks at 63 indicators to assess energy efficiency across five sectors—agriculture and distribution companies, buildings, industry, municipalities, and transport–and creates rankings and fact sheets with recommendations for each Indian state. AEEE intends to use the MacArthur-supported Index to promote energy efficiency with comprehensive solutions.
