Criminology researchers from Florida International University and Loyola University of Chicago collaborated on a series of surveys and interviews to learn more about prosecutors’ perspectives on defining success, setting office priorities, engaging with communities, using incarceration, and examining racial disparities. The resulting report breaks down findings from four jurisdictions—Chicago, Jacksonville, Milwaukee, and Tampa—in the five topics of inquiry. The MacArthur-supported research aims to use the data to improve transparency, support informed decision making, measure and improve performance, and foster engagement with communities.
