The Center for Migration Studies has released estimates of the U.S. undocumented population by metropolitan area, including the populations potentially eligible for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA-plus), and Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) programs. The MacArthur-supported report was released in anticipation of the Supreme Court’s decision in Texas v. United States, which will determine whether the DACA-plus and DAPA programs will continue. The estimates are intended to help government officials, NGOs, media, and researchers understand the impact of the decision on metropolitan areas.
