Michigan Ave Chicago

The City of Chicago recently launched Open311, an evolution of the phone-based 311 systems that many cities in North America offer, designed to transform the way Chicagoans handle everything from pothole reports to garbage can requests. The new form of technology, funded by the MacArthur-supported Smart Chicago Collaborative, will allow Chicagoans to submit and track the progress of their 311 requests online and via mobile devices. The initiative is part of the Smart Chicago Collaborative’s efforts to use technology to improve lives in Chicago.
