MacArthur, the McCormick Foundation, Driehaus Foundation, Polk Bros Foundation, Field Foundation, and the Chicago Community Trust established a Journalism Fund to support Chicago-area media organizations who provide information about COVID-19 to Chicago residents. Grants up to $10,000 will go to both for-profit and nonprofit media for public benefit that might not otherwise be possible. The support through uncertain times helps to safeguard Chicago’s diverse media landscape, prioritizing small community and ethnic media outlets that bring information to underserved communities.
