The Secretary of State’s Office of Global Partnerships hosted a Global Diaspora Forum – built on the Diaspora Networks Alliance framework for leveraging diaspora resources for effective development and diplomacy – to unleash the potential of these communities. The Forum and the Alliance were informed by a body of MacArthur-supported work on the contributions of migrants and diasporas to home-country development, in particular, the work of MacArthur grantee and Forum co-organizer, the Migration Policy Institute. The African Diaspora Policy Centre, another MacArthur grantee, was also featured at the Forum. Watch video of the opening event.
