An innovative new program to increase the success of middle-school students in Chicago and bolster their chances of graduating high school was announced today at an event at the Orozco Community Academy in the Chicago community of Pilsen. The new initiative, Integrated Services in Schools (ISS), will be managed by Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Chicago and implemented at each school through partnerships between community based organizations and local Chicago Public Schools. It is funded by The Atlantic Philanthropies. The ISS Chicago Committee is chaired by Julia Stasch, the Vice President for domestic grantmaking at MacArthur.
