Independent news publishers are known for making a big impact with small budgets, but it is a challenge to grow and strengthen their businesses. MacArthur is supporting $100,000 growth grants to 15 news publishers through Local Independent Online News Publishers, (LION Publishers). The grant application is open to LION publisher members who are working to grow and sustain their business models. The direct support aims to give recipients “flexibility to strengthen their operations and better serve their communities,” said Silvia Rivera, Director, Local News.
