Discussing Race in New Orleans’ Justice System

The Atlantic hosted Race + Justice: New Orleans to examine racial disparities in the justice system and how they can be addressed in reform efforts, especially in New Orleans. Videos of the event explore issues ranging from community efforts for reform to discrimination against people who are formerly incarcerated. Bria Gillum, Program Officer for Criminal Justice, spoke with William Snowden, Executive Director of grantee Vera Institute, about the racial disparities in the use of jails at the MacArthur-supported event.
