To support transitional justice work through the COVID-19 pandemic, the Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF) awarded nearly $1 million to 25 civil society organizations in Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone. The funding will ensure that transitional justice issues centering victims and survivors with truth, justice, and accountability remain in focus as communities mitigate the harm of COVID-19. Administered by Institute for Democratic Governance in Accra, Ghana, the MacArthur-supported ATJLF supports the implementation of transitional justice in West Africa.
