Njideka-Akunyili-Crosby-Fellow-240

The Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago will organize an exhibition in 2021 in honor of the 40th anniversary of the MacArthur Fellows program. The multisite exhibition will show art by more than two dozen MacArthur Fellows, including Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Mark Bradford, Rick Lowe, Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle, Fazal Sheikh, and Shahzia Sikander. Centered around the theme of “the commons”, it will examine how these artists use creativity to engage with inclusivity and exclusion, ownership and access. The Foundation made a $1 million grant to the Smart Museum for the program.
