President Barack Obama announced his “intent to nominate” Aaron Dworkin to join the National Council on the Arts. The National Council on the Arts advises the Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts on agency policies and programs. Dworkin, is the recipient of the 2005 MacArthur Fellows award and the Founder and President of the Sphinx Organization. The Detroit-based Sphinx Organization works with many MacArthur arts grantees to provide music education opportunities in Chicago, including Marwen, Chicago Sinfonietta, and Merit School of Music.
