At a time when the use of catalytic capital is expanding but needs have never been greater, organizations committed to this type of impact investing gathered to share successes and discuss ongoing challenges. Catalytic capital is designed to address gaps and enable others to invest, making it a particularly powerful form of impact investing.

140 individuals from nearly 90 organizations supported by the Catalytic Capital Consortium (C3) Grantmaking initiative—led and funded by MacArthur, alongside nine other funders—came together in San Francisco to share their experiences and strategize ways to expand catalytic capital further. Attendees represented active investors across the United States and the rest of the world as well as organizations that have received investments and grants to support the growth of the catalytic capital community.
