A first-of-its-kind initiative will help 11 Chicago media organizations tell more original stories about immigrant communities and amplify reporting on immigration topics from other local newsrooms. Press Forward Chicago announced this as part of its second round of grantmaking, with awards totaling $1.5 million. It is also awarding 18 local news organizations grants to help them grow and engage their audiences and improve their business sustainability.
