This new MacArthur-supported documentary by Arts Engine follows the life of Ruth Mapendo, a Congolese refugee who fled to the U.S. with nine of her 10 children when ethnic violence broke out there in the 1990s. The documentary explores the often unseen effects of war on women and families.
