The Chicago Community Trust, metropolitan Chicago’s community foundation, announced a grant of $10 million from MacArthur. The gift recognizes the Trust’s vital role in improving the lives of hundreds of thousands of residents of Chicago. The announcement was made on May 12th, 93 years to the day the “Declaration of Trust” was signed that established The Chicago Community Trust — the second community foundation formed nationally of now more than 700 community foundations today.
